October,October!
Happy October to everybody! It really feels like Fall now.It is time to put on sweaters and light jackets. It is a little bit chilly in the mornings! We had the first frosts last week.My garden looks tired and sad but my pumpkins are thriving.I will have more than six pumpkins this year.It was like a gift from God.Last year I threw away my Halloween pumpkins in my veggie patch for compost and what was my surprise in the spring when I saw a big bunch of healthy pumpkin seedlings by my tomato plants.I replanted them in a new spot and they went crazy growing up even stronger. And also this is the right time to drink more tea and hot chocolate and decorate the house with fall knick-knacks.I got inspired last week and pulled out all my fall and Halloween decorations, which to be truthful are not very many. And although it is colder in October, like today for example, some people still manage to have fun like this para glider in the picture.I hope he is dressed up warm because it is really windy and chilly out there.Still I can't help but admire him or her for having fun on such a gloomy and cold day.

The summer is coming to its end.We are kind of sad about that.My daughter will miss the freedom of the summer days and I will miss being outdoors. Our dad ,he has always loved spring with its freshness and beautiful flowers.I have always liked fall and I am excited about it coming soon but this summer had a special place in my heart. It was full with a lot of fun and excitement. We went to several trips, the last one to Madison,WI.My girl had a wonderful Birthday party at a roller skating rink.We spent a lot of time in our garden eating alfresco and taking care of the plants.Even the little Guinea pig spent quite a bit playing in his playpen outside. There were a lot of bike rides in the woods,a lot of shopping trips, the last one for school supplies,a lot of reading, drawing and....browsing
the web.I wish I could do less of the last one especially in the summer. So,this summer was very good to us in many ways.Even the harvest of my little veggie patch was unusually good this year,a lot of cucumbers and tomatoes and a whole lot of 6 peppers from my only pepper plant.Isn't this something? What I want to say is that I am very grateful for all the good things this summer brought to us and that we have to prepare our hearts for the beautiful season of the falling leaves.

Good weather,bad weather.
Now it's raining. The sky is cloudy and gloomy.I am reading a book. The right time to read isn't it?
I took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday. The morning was cool and fresh before the summer heat hit.I hung some clothes to dry outside on the line and sat in the garden to read a book with a glass of cold lemonade. Then I went on a bike ride.It was so nice and beautiful by the river!A light breeze was blowing, the air was full of fragrances of flowers and plants,of bird song a and bee buzz.Unforgettable moments. My memory is full of the images and feelings of yesterday. The pictures that I post are not from yesterday though. They are from other happy moments in the past.

Summer
Summer is here!!!And life is so easy and so much fun!July has been such a lovely month so far.Not too hot or too cool, just right! We do much more things outside together as a family.Biking, grilling, hiking, kayaking, eating alfresco in our yard, gardening and more.I try to dole some time for reading and sketching as well.I started a new book IF I STAY by Gayle Forman and I like it a lot so far.

The gifts of spring
I wish I worked less and had more time to enjoy the gifts of spring and ... the gifts of life.Mother Nature is so generous to us giving us all these beautiful flowers, bird songs and sunshine, these gorgeous unbelievable colors and this fresh air that gives you that feeling of happiness and freedom. And where are we?Locked in offices, in factory buildings and even in our own houses working,working,working...missing our own lives...earning money for things that we don't even need!!!

The little things
The summer vacation has started but it is not summer yet.It was quite chilly this last weekend. The sunshine was singing the song "Should I come or should I go" having hard time making up its mind.My family and I though ,we had a very well spent weekend catching up with some yard work and organizing the house.I planted my vegetable patch and replanted my succulents in bigger pots.My husband cleaned the garden and worked on his flower beds.My daughter organized her room/I couldn't believe my eyes/ and took the Guinea pig outside for a play date with the sunshine and the grass. There also were delicious meals, bike rides, playing with friends, cuddling with the cats, drawing and reading. All those little things that give us joy in life.
