The summer is coming to its end.We are kind of sad about that.My daughter will miss the freedom of the summer days and I will miss being outdoors. Our dad ,he has always loved spring with its freshness and beautiful flowers.I have always liked fall and I am excited about it coming soon but this summer had a special place in my heart. It was full with a lot of fun and excitement. We went to several trips, the last one to Madison,WI.My girl had a wonderful Birthday party at a roller skating rink.We spent a lot of time in our garden eating alfresco and taking care of the plants.Even the little Guinea pig spent quite a bit playing in his playpen outside. There were a lot of bike rides in the woods,a lot of shopping trips, the last one for school supplies,a lot of reading, drawing and....browsing
the web.I wish I could do less of the last one especially in the summer. So,this summer was very good to us in many ways.Even the harvest of my little veggie patch was unusually good this year,a lot of cucumbers and tomatoes and a whole lot of 6 peppers from my only pepper plant.Isn't this something? What I want to say is that I am very grateful for all the good things this summer brought to us and that we have to prepare our hearts for the beautiful season of the falling leaves.

Ode to Summer
The last three posts of mine turned into an Ode to Summer,to the gorgeous summer we have this year! But I can't help it,I have to post more pictures of summer beauty.I wish we could preserve it in jars like strawberry jam and savor it during the cold winter days.

Do you enjoy your summer?I do too.We have the perfect weather this year.Just the right amount of sun and rain, wonderful temperatures.Just beautiful. This is an old illustration I did a few years ago.The theme is clear:the little joys of summer.I did it with ink pen in my scktchbook.

Good weather,bad weather.
Now it's raining. The sky is cloudy and gloomy.I am reading a book. The right time to read isn't it?
I took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday. The morning was cool and fresh before the summer heat hit.I hung some clothes to dry outside on the line and sat in the garden to read a book with a glass of cold lemonade. Then I went on a bike ride.It was so nice and beautiful by the river!A light breeze was blowing, the air was full of fragrances of flowers and plants,of bird song a and bee buzz.Unforgettable moments. My memory is full of the images and feelings of yesterday. The pictures that I post are not from yesterday though. They are from other happy moments in the past.

Summer
Summer is here!!!And life is so easy and so much fun!July has been such a lovely month so far.Not too hot or too cool, just right! We do much more things outside together as a family.Biking, grilling, hiking, kayaking, eating alfresco in our yard, gardening and more.I try to dole some time for reading and sketching as well.I started a new book IF I STAY by Gayle Forman and I like it a lot so far.

Random post
Random pictures from my archive. My daughter was looking at the old pictures in the computer two days ago.She was amazed by these pictures taken in our garden. They were from August 2013.I guess I've forgotten all about them.I love the summer feeling in them when life is so easy.
